Not really. All the money goes to rent, food and utilities. If you don't work you end up in the streets. It sounds like slavery to me because you are forced to work. Specially since 90% are living on minimum wage or close to it.

Not true. Depends on how much you make and how much you spend on those particular things, which are wildly varying factors. I know some people who buy a LOT of entertainment shit while making like 70k a year and make it out just fine.

I make 55k a year living alone in a cheap area outside Minneapolis and I have never been hampered by money. I buy what I want, when I want. I'm taking a trip to Vegas next month.

Anyone who truly believes jobs are slavery is just using that as a defense to delude themselves into thinking that's why they're unemployed, when the reality is, they have no skills or knowledge worth paying for.

As a multimillionaire, I can confirm. Jobs are a form of slavery.

And we're so good at brainwashing that the fools go home with their 60k/year salary an feel proud and accomplished.

Meanwhile I blow through that much every day for no damn reason.

Not slavery but the system in place kinda sucks. Work 50 hours a week for decent money, but no time to spend it, or work a job doing less hours but I'd basically be gutting my bank account at that point. Or don't work at all and just die I guess

Yes.

There is something wrong with life when you need to go to college , trade skill, or be naturally gifted or else you live in a crappy house and live a poor lifestyle. There is something wrong with life when you need to work 40 hours a work or multiple jobs just to make end's meet.

If someone has a crappy job they don't have the time or resources to better themselves. School costs time and money. If they are in a situation where they try to save money, but random inconveniences like car breaking down, family getting sick, or home repairs keeps them from having a lot of money.

Dude gtfo. The majority of the population worked in agriculture two centuries ago and worked from sun up to sun down with just enough down time to cook, eat, pray, and go to church.

If you wanna look into something that is actually like slavery, look into sharecropping in the Jim Crow era. Or going to a prison where it's mandated that you work...for a couple cents an hour. I do feel for the people out there who feel like they have to put in 12+ hour days 6-7 days a week just to make ends meet for the sake of their dependents (kids, spouse, etc.) and they don't have any means to get more education and be able to get a nicer job for comparable pay with less hours. If you're only putting in 40-50 hours of work a week though, you can have a very nice personal life still, but sometimes you might have to treat your personal life with the same hustle you do your work life. You gotta get it while you can - you'll be old before you know it.

What kind of a job cuts your hours for that? Department stores?

If I use a sick day or request vacation I'm never penalized.

Yeah the social life aspect can be hard. I work second shift so running chores/errands is no issue, I just do them in the morning/afternoon. But it can be tough arranging hangouts and dates.

If you're only working forty hours a week and you sleep eight hours per day you have eight spare hours per day Monday to Friday and you have sixteen spare hours on Saturday and Sunday. That's 72 hours per week you're awake and not working. WTF is it you can't accomplish in that much time?

Making dinner, washing dishes, showering, doing laundry and preparing for work are not particularly time-consuming tasks (such as grocery shopping and cleaning the house, things done on a weekly/bi-weekly basis rather than daily). You also don't do laundry every single day.

Nothing you're saying makes any sense. I don't even think you've ever lived on your own before let alone worked a full-time job.
