I just got this very convincing email from "Apple". With a definitely-not-a-scam return email and great grammar. I especially like how the first sentence says my account is locked and then later says my account will be temporarily locked in 24 hours. Keep up the great work guys, you really look legit. ~_^

You know these scams are written poorly and are obviously bogus intentionally, though, right?

That way the only people who will actually fall for it and follow through are the very computer-illiterate. In other words, only the easy marks will fall into the trap. Which means the scammers will have an easier time actually getting the info/money from the target.

They don't actually want intelligent people to bite and end up wasting their time and effort.

Whenever I see these I laugh but then a little part inside of me dies for all the well meaning grandmas and grandpas that get rinsed out :(
