Warning, this topic will surely contain spoilers for the original Life Is Strange

I really liked the first game and considering part 1 is free, it's insane how many people have refused to even check it out. It's underrated in my opinion.

BUT! I am coming into this prequel biased because while I liked Life Is Strange, it felt like a complete game that didn't need a sequel or any expanding upon. So I wonder what the point of all this is.

On top of that, I didn't really like Chloe and much like the Meh Twin Peaks movie ruined Laura, I feel like this game will ruin Rachel who is a character best left never actually seen by the player.

So right of the bat the game is needling me just be premise along. But will it turn out to be great or just a cash in? Let's find out.

Anyway someone got it for me for Christmas so I'm going to give it a try! Anyone on CE played it? What were your thoughts and advice? No spoilers please...

Have to admit reading the old Text Messages was legitimately sad.

Although this game does make Chloe's obsession with Max to be kinda insane, Jesus Christ, she's more obsessed with Max than her dead father

I mean all the issues still stand, Chloe is still a horrible human being who I don't get why the game thinks we're supposed to like, her obsession with Max is just bizarre and Rachel is no longer special, she's just a random chick.

But those aside It's actually legitimately really fun, well made and funny. I've literally laughed out loud and felt sad at points.

Why hasn't CE talked about this more?

Yes. It came out just before Christmas.

It's also on Sale right now. So good time to buy it

Yes, but considering she's meant to be younger (and have spent time between this and LIF Smoking and drinking) it still works.

I mean if they had the same voice actor she would have had to alter her voice anyway.

It's a lot like Mordin from ME2 to ME3. Sure you can tell the voice is different but it's still fine.

Honestly every time this game just tries to be funny, sad or just tell a story, it works.

Every time it tries to make me sympathize with Chloe, it falls apart. She's just so dislikable and hatefilled, I wish it would stop trying so hard. At this point either you're already sold or you're not.

Which is poo poo in my opinion.

Rachel was best left never seen, all making her a regular chick did was make her less special and the events of LIS less meaningful. Especially considering no one apart from Chloe cared that she went missing despite the fact its established now that she was the most popular and beloved kid in the entire school

I highly reccomend it. I didn't like Chole either and I'm really enjoying this despite it's flaws.

It HAS maintained the standards that LIS started.

I finished Episode 2.

It's a good game but as I suspected, it really is kinda killing Rachel. She's nothing like what she was described in LIS and it's making Chloe's actions in that kinda bonkers.

Just finished the game.

It was good.

Episode 1 was the best. The ending was a real cop out but that's par for the course with these games.

Also it's kinda weird that Chloe and Frank didn't get on better in LIS considering this.

But yeah you should all play it CE, it's good. Color me surprised

I'm very surprised you enjoyed it UR, I can't really say the same for me. This game kills the character Amber for me, she's also as unlikable as Chloe as well. Though I will give it credit, the game's dialogues and humor definitely worked better than I expected and the talk back feature is unique, but it's no time travel mechanic. This game felt like a Telltale game, except with limited choices but at least with this game you can travel around and talk to people where the newer Telltale games are mostly cutscenes now.

Agreed but I thought that her just being there kills the character from the start so I guess my low expectations saved the day.

But I'm with you 100% it kills Rachel

And also Chloe is dislikable.

But it's still a really fun game despite that, I enjoyed it. I laughed, I felt bad. I'm looking forward to Farewell.
