Semi related, I find it odd that they don't use I, O, or Q on VINs to avoid confusion with 1 or 0, yet they do use S which can be confused with 5. I've had to deal with VIN discrepancies a few times because of it.

Yeah it's really dumb. Like, a font has ONE job: distinct characters for each letter. If it fails at that, it shouldn't exist.

My apartment complex uses letters instead of numbers and the l I thing is now an issue for me. I think that naming scheme is pretty bad.

This is ridiculous. From context you'll know which you're reading. Is it the first letter or a sentence, does it appear to work as a noun in the sentence, does the word consist of a single letter? Then you know from the context exactly what you're looking at here.
Also who cares about letter-case in urls/programming? I would assume everything is lower-case there. --- Whatever happened to standards? Whatever happened to bare minimums? 15 Transwomen of color have been murdered since 1/1/2017 ... Copied to Clipboard!

If you can't know the tense of a word until further on in the sentence, then it's a flaw in the language.
