The cops found Brett suffering from a single bullet wound to his left chest on Christmas Eve at 9pm.. The Plano West High School student was rushed to Baylor Hospital where he died after midnight on Christmas Day... He drove to Irving to conduct a marijuana sale as he met his potential buyers in a botched sale before one suspect took out a gun and a fight broke out. He fought with the 2 suspects before one of them struck him on the chest as both suspects fled. Brett was expected to graduate in 2 years and comes from a wealthy family where he's the son of a prominent local businessman, Bill Adkins, where he spent working at his Dad's car dealerships as a car washer and volunteered at a animal shelter His profile said "As of now, i am focusing on my grades to achieve a high GPA and get into a good school because i am a people person, i would one day like to end up in a career wher i can be involved with epople from various backgrounds" His father is the president of Trophy Nissan, Toyota of Dallas and Nissan of McKinney. His mother, Vicki is a fashion stylist and he also had a 20 y/o sister. On Sept. 15th on his FB, his family wished him a happy 17th birthday and "may this be your BEST YEAR EVER" The family were at his grandparents celebrating winter holidays and it's unclar why Brett DID NOT join them Do you think if marijuana was legalized, this could have been prevented? If he went to Plano West, kid is most likely privileged as hell. And it sounds like it given his dads occupation. Kid got caught up in the wrong crowd.

People that do foolish things will always find a way... There's a certain personality type that engages in high-risk or illegal behaviour. If it wasn't this, it could've been skiing out of bounds on vacation and smacking into a tree. I don't want to say that the topic question is making a false equivalency, but it almost is.

If it was legalized, and if I'm correct, you would still need a prescription for it. I agree with this, but I also agree that if weed was legal there, he may not have been in that situation, though I believe it's very possible he may have still been involved with the wrong crowd... but the potential for this tragedy to have not occured is significant --- "I can i i everything else," Bob reportedly said.
