As the first topic in this idea I've had for awhile, here is the basic groundwork. INTRODUCTION I looked at the Top 24 episodes of Simpsons ever, as based on user star ratings on IMDB. The list is from 2015, but I doubt anything in 2015 and beyond would belong on this list. This list has a nice little two sentence explanation of the episode if you do not have episode names memorized. In each topic I will also explain each episode that we are voting on. THE LIST - http://www.imdb.com/list/ls076621282/ Using Challong, I've created a tournament involving the Top 24 episodes of all time! THE BRACKET - http://challonge.com/1pqf62l9 The 1-8 seeds have a bye in the first round, since that seems appropriate. Every day (or maybe twice a day depending on how 1-sided a vote gets) we will put up a new poll and see which episode out of the two is considered better. Winner moves on, loser is dropped. There will be a third place vote as well. Let's get to it! THE COMBATANTS! WHO SHOT MR. BURNS PT 2 - As Mr. Burns lies in intensive care, Chief Wiggum - with some help from Lisa - tries to find out who shot him. vs. ONE FISH, TWO FISH, BLOWFISH, BLUE FISH - After apparently consuming poison blowfish, Homer is told that he only has 24 hours to live. --- ... Easy vote for me. While Fish is definitely an interesting episode, far more touching than many other episodes... the payoff to Who Shot Mr. Burns was just too good.

One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish. If both parts of Who Shot Mr Burns were lumped together it would be that for sure, but voting for half an episode as the show's all-time best just doesn't feel right to me. Plus, the other option is arguably the show's best sentimental episode - imo only surpassed by Lisa's Substitute & Mother Simpson.

"Mr. Chef! Your skilled hands are needed!"
"Can't you see my skilled hands are busy!?!?" (I'm pretty sure the chef was with Bart's teacher in the backseat of a car which makes that scene that much better) Who Shot Pt2 does get a nod for the great setup/punchline of "as easy as taking candy from a baby" while also absolving any character of actually shooting Mr. Burns which meant no character death. Still, I consider the first half with the setup and suspense far superior to its conclusion. --- Remember that I won't rest, 'til we share the same tense Just know, to me, you're better late than never again. ...
