Current Events > Played Skyrim for the first time a few days ago. Advice?

This is really great so far. Flawed, but great.

I like the feeling of discovering a new cave or dungeon, or anything else that perks my interest.

The NPCs remind me of Majora's Mask, where everyone (seems) to have some sort of schedule.

There looks to be a theme of "Pick a side and go for it," but I'm unsure what I think about that.

The AI is pretty broken in a fun way. I've cheesed a couple of fights I clearly wasn't ready for, mainly by abusing path-finding AI or putting a random object in front of me.

Though, on the bright side, I legitimately defeated my first non-story dragon. Feels good tbh

Do you have any advice for someone new, CE?

No matter what you're going to end up with a stealth archer so just go with that. Also get as much iron ore as you can and make it gold and then make 1000s of ring and necklaces.

Steal wooden bowls. All of them. The NPC's won't have anything to pour their cereal in! AGHHHHHHAHAhaha

Illusion sucks at first but you can level it really easily and at high levels is fun to use.

Maxing enchant / smith is the key to making your character insanely OP

The problem I always found with stealth archer is that for the first half of the game it's hard as fuck, and then once you get a few key skills its overpowered as fuck. I don't clearly remember a point in the game as a stealth archer where things felt particularly balanced. You're either one-shotting people for hours or you're running backwards while unloading 300 arrows into a zombie that won't fucking die.

This is why I like sword/board characters best. Felt the most balanced gameplay wise.
