Like "MoviePass"; pay once a month, and get concession food/snacks.

I think with them doing it with tickets the main income for them is full priced concession stand stuff.

For an extra $2.50 I can get 30 free movies a month from MP instead lol Every time I buy popcorn, I just buy a large popcorn, because the price difference between a small and large is only like $1-2, and you get free refills with the large popcorn. Now the amount of times that I actually utilize that free refill, I can count on one hand... ... Copied to Clipboard!

Theatres make their money off of concessions. moviepass brings people in and since theyre saving money theyre more likely to buy snacks..which is what they want. This would defeat the plan.

I eat all of the popcorn, get a free refill, and usually eat the rest. I go hard at the theater like Takeru Kobayashi.

That and moviepass is a third party company and is currently taking a loss on each ticket you buy through MP. MP's whole game is trying to scale to eventually negotiate lower prices with theaters, and also make money by selling your information and viewing habits. As you said, theaters certainly won't want to offer discounts and there's no value in a third party company offering a discount service on snacks. They can't sell your habits on buying popcorn or candy, it's useless. ... Copied to Clipboard!
