Obviously the person who called it in should be punished, but what about the officer(s) that shoot in these situations? I understand it's a very intense environment to be called to what is reported to be a murder and hostage situation, but, damn. If what I've seen posted is accurate, then going into a hostage situation would probably mean they were in the mindset of take him out quick before he kills someone. Being completely innocent, the guy would have absolutely no idea what's going on and may have been in panic mode. I haven't gone through any training so that's just me assuming.
