You're telling this to people who are working 17 hours a day at 3 different minimum wage jobs just to pull $35k a year to feed their 4 kids.

But, bootstraps, right?

Well, obviously you need to work to some sort of plan of progression as well as working hard.

Struggling to progress further in your current job? Go to night school and get more qualifications, etc. Many people just settle for failure rather than put in that sort of effort.

It's easier to bitch and moan and demand freebies and a higher minimum wage than it is to actually work hard and succeed.

Here's your typical conservative everyone.

"Just go to night school in between working 17 hours a day so you're able to feed your 5 kids and 3 dogs! No problem!"

Meanwhile there's engineering PhDs working in call centers.

can be tough when your state makes abortion very difficult and the only birth control education "don't have sex"

can also be tough when you have children as part of a plan with a spouse who will support you, then they bail on you and your child support is minimal

in general is tough when that message comes after the fact

And don't have sex either, right? And you're 30+ years old and can't even talk to a girl. You'd turn these people into r/incels to propagate your bootstraps rhetoric

i sometimes think the people parroting anti-worker rhetoric, aside from rank hypocrites, are incels themselves eager to re-establish a social hierarchy where their adequate income but inadequate social skills doesn't land them at the bottom of the totem pole

because working hard doesn't mean working hard.

the fine print literally reads:
get an education that's in demand
get connections
always expand your resume
don't commit to a family until you're stabilized in your career

and some others i'm probably forgetting.

History shows that the most effective form of birth control is making people pay for their own kids. That's why lack of access to abortion and birth control is so apocalyptic that birth rates to unwed mothers plummeted after the 1970s. Oh wait, no, the opposite of that.

I love people who say "go into a trade." During the great recession my mechanic cousin and electrician cousin spent a lot of time unemployed. Both are over age 40. Both are working now but for less than they were ten years ago.

a lot of data coming out of individual states is showing that making long term BC like the injection free dramatically reduced teen birth rates; meanwhile the states with the worst education policies relating to human sexuality have the highest teen birth rates

i'll link you if you care

but more importantly you can't just throw that data out there without considering the context

the sexual revolution happened and perfectly coincides with the upward thrust (giggity)

unless you're saying it shouldnt have

in which case
