You're going through some old files you found hidden in a locked cabinet and you discover one day that the man you thought was your grandfather wasn't actually really your biological grandfather. He and your parents were just pretending to protect you from the reality that you're a descendant of Hitler.

Your mother sits you down and sayd "Now I know you might think this is all hip and rad Shaka brah word and all that but trust us, it's not. Only a single digit amount of people even knew the truth. No one has found out, even the history books and family trees have forgotten. Your father went to great lengths to change his identiy and made sure that it was a secret to keep his family safe and we've long accepted that. You need to as well.

Not only is my grandfather still alive, and fled Germany after the war as a child, absolutely nothing would change for me. I'm of West German descent. The culture of guilt surrounding the Holocaust has pretty much convinced us the we are all Hitler, in so much as we are directly responsible for his sins.

Adding one more sin to the pile won't really do shit.

I dont think I would care too much, except that Id probably be expected by a lot of people to atone for his (i.e. Hitlers) crimes. He did what he did. I had no part in it.

Well one of my Grandparents was a fascist anyway, so the whole family thing doesnt change too much. But yeah id probably look for a way to financially benefit from the publicity.
