I have just over $2000 in credit I can use and $500 in the bank. More than enough to get a 1 way plane ticket to Vegas and 1 months rent down. Enough time to find a job and use public transit. At least I wouldn't have any charges over my head, with these being misdemeanors, they won't come get me out of state. No felonies. I would hate to leave my family behind tho. But yeah, this shit ain't working.

I've been in about 8 rehabs before. One of them was 12 months long. This is nothing new to me, but I've been in this last program for 39 months, with no sign of getting out at all. Unless I take the 4 years in jail.

Rather than actually man up and get sober and take charge of your life you want to go to jail for a year and a half so you stop being inconvenienced.

The only plan is to truly understand and accept how badly alcohol and drugs are ruining you and to genuinely not want them. Drugs and alcohol are going to exist wherever you go and they'll still be here when you get out of jail.

I've seen several times where you would say that you were looking forward to being with probation and drug tests because you could start drinking and smoking after that. If that's your perspective then you'll probably keep relapsing.

The arrests were 2011, 2012, and 2014.

I'm on google looking at sober living homes in LA and Vegas. There are a LOT of them. I wonder if they would help me find a job? I could work the program with them and then move out into my own place after a few months of getting myself together.. it would be a whole new life for me and I'd be making something of myself.

Well I haven't had the luxury of weed in over 6 years. I didn't lose control and act an asshole when I would smoke it. My drug tests have prevented me from using it. But I could move where it's legal and it would help me a lot in abstaining from Four Loko and vodka.

Weed is definitely a key factor in keeping me from the liquor getting out of hand. Some shit societal rules in play for you unfortunately. Although I'd be in the same boat if I had gotten in legal trouble I suppose.

I had a cop threaten me with a dui once while I was having a smoke in my passenger seat to get out of the cold (don't smoke in my house) it's definitely fucked up. I sat in passenger seat even in my parking lot just to avoid that problem

Same here to a certain extent. Weed could never be a substitute for booze, but it definitely helps, in that once I'm satisfactorially (phone says that isn't a word but I say it is) drunk, I can smoke and enjoy the combination for a few hours while consuming no to minimal additional alcohol (whereas I used to just keep drinking even more). I don't really like being just high. I like being just drunk. I REALLY like both, so weed definitely helps me maintain reasonable control of my booze consumption.

I too would probably be in the same boat, but I'm good at avoiding legal trouble, I stay out of trouble even when I'm fucked up, I live in a good neighborhood in a small low-crime city and probably thanks to my maturity level through age, I will make certain concessions (bouncer says I'm too drunk to enter a bar? I accept it and go home. Cop crosses paths with me and thinks I'm up to no good? I cooperate and represent myself correctly and all is well. Someone tries starting shit with me? I defend my position and while I will be stern as fuck if need be, I don't show aggression or cross lines. I am a diplomat at heart. Friend has alcohol poisoning and hypothermia and when I tell paramedics I want to ride to the hospital with him, they tell me no and have a bunch of attitude? They are doing their job and I will take no for answer because it is what it is and I'm not in a position to argue).

Point is, yeah... I follow my instincts. They have been good to me and I always will hone them. I wish everyone who enjoys drinking/drugs could be responsible enough to consume without letting it ruin them, but I understand that this is not case.

I watched your video TC and I wish you the best. Moving to a state where you can smoke weed is a good idea. Taxes will likely hit you hard. My state (MA) is practically a fucking meme in terms of taxes, though I don't make that much myself and I live in a studio/efficiency type apt., so I make ends meet.
