I closed the game after two or three.

The game just got stupid after Sayori killed herself. I stopped caring about anything because I knew that Monika was just manipulating stuff. Despite it being undeniably darker than the first half, I just didn't take it seriously.

To start over from the very beginning, find and delete the "firstrun" file in the game folder.

You can actually just savescum - whenyou reach a fork, save, ppick one road till just before the point of no return, then load the save and choose a different route.

You'd be better off just looking it up on YouTube if your curious imo. I do however suggest you watch the Game Grumps series on this game. They take their time with it, but I love the weird quirks and voices they give the characters.

I just don't understand why they don't make more visual novels/hentai games with rpg mechanics and stat leveling required to get certain girls by certain time points, etc, etc. I would play the SHIT out of all those visual novels on fucking Steam if most of them had more interaction and choice and not just reading

I mean, it's pretty damn great as a visual novel. Sucks as a game, but it did what it set out to do and excelled. I have maybe five hours in this game, I probably won't ever play it again, but I got super invested in the characters and the events of the story. To be able to do that in such a short amount of time is pretty gud.

I have to play it again, just because I want to get a better ending. Those girls don't deserve all the crap they went through; even Monika was simply driven crazy by the reality of her... non-reality, as it were.

I'm sure there are plenty of dating sims with stats and requirements for certain romantic paths. Maybe a lot of them just don't make it out of Japan.

Spoilers for some of the... supplemental material for the game.

Apparently the next game is gonna offer us a way to give everyone a happy ending, since the next one takes place in an alternate (or the real) universe featuring the same characters.

Monika (its probably her, at least) wants us to figure out a way to tell the girls everything thatll happen before it actually happens, so they know what to expect and take proactive measures so it doesnt happen.

But I imagine itll all backfire and telling them everything (ESPECIALLY YURI) will probably just make a separate timeline where things are even worse.

Were dealing with a franchise here, folks. These girls arent gonna be happy anytime soon.
