It's strange to think there's been life on Earth for about a quarter the time the entire universe has existed, and that the first generation stars probably wouldn't have made elements in abundance to have planets or life like we have now, with the Sun being a third? generation star... makes it hard to imagine where that DNA or whatever would have come from before Earth. Why can't our reality be base reality? Especially when we cannot by definition interact with anything outside of our reality. This life is too amazing for it just to be some sort of fluke event. And there's no way I'm lucky enough to win the astronomical lottery and actually be born, let alone an organism capable of complex thought and not some sort of miserable insect with a 24 hour lifespan.
