no matter how tired i am when i go to sleep, i'll always wake up within four hours (give or take a half-hour) or so

i can usually fall back asleep decently quickly, though

Its because you arent going to bed at the right times. If you get up at 6 and go to bed at 11 there should be no problem sleeping longer than four hours.

I haven't slept for more than like 3 or 4 hours straight in a long time. I wake up often.

I rarely sleep for more than 20 minutes straight and I still usually feel fine when I get up. I'm only awake for about a minute each time before falling back asleep so it's not that big a deal.
