Or at least ones you've had positive interactions with. Like, pretty much every fanbase is bad and everyone knows it. But that doesn't mean there aren't fanbases that you've not only had fun interacting with, but have even actively made the experience with that respective piece of media better and more memorable.

For example, the first few months after Undertale came out were my favorite time interacting with a fanbase that I've ever had. There were tons of discussions on the characters/story, theories, sharing details about the game you might've missed, ect. There was also a ridiculous outpouring of creativity - lots of music remixes, comics, even games, more than I've ever seen for one single piece of media. And there was basically no negativity whatsoever! While the fanbase got a tad out of hand as the game got bigger, those first few months were awesome and unforgettable to me.

Also going to throw a shoutout to the Nier fanbase, who seem too accepting of weird stuff in general to get hung up on differing opinions or small details. Comes with the Yoko Taro territory, I suppose. I've loved talking to people about both Nier games.

Oh man. I forgot about Kyle Bowen.

I actually met a to-this-day friend over Shadow Hearts 1. We were in High School, started talking about video games for the first time. He went "ever heard of Shadow Hearts?". I told him I'd played it, to which he responded with "wait are you serious?" Been buds ever since.

NHL or ice hockey in general. I've found to be a really welcoming and friendly community in general. Especially if you actually attend a game and ask questions about the game and things.
NBA I've generally been able to have intelligent conversations with most fans I've met even though they all like different teams.
Resident Evil, Silent hill. Actually most fans of horror genre seem more than willing to help out other people and fiund the positives in what they love instead of the negatives.

Go to the rest of the state. Many U.K. Fans in Louisville or on the border have had to deal with so much shit from these absolutely abhorant fanbases would rather we lose than they win, that they kinda have way more hate than is healthy for U6 and IU.

But everywhere else it's pretty jovial nice guys who will talk to justnabout any other college basketball fan in the world about their favorite sport.

See I've never had a bad experience with Pirates fans. Don't like the team, but the fanbase seems fine.

Cardinals fans, however, are atrocious to deal with. I've never seen a group of sports fans so engrossed and invested in demeaning a franchise that, until a little over a year ago, they would claim was never a threat. Like, I'll go to a Cubs/Cards game, and half the Cardinals fans are wearing attire designed to insult the Cubs rather than support their team. It's unreal, and I can't understand how any fanbase gets to that level of pure toxicity. Obviously I know solid people who are Cardinals fans, but when I go to St Louis it's always such a bitter environment.

bloodborne fanbase is prettttyyyy good. even after the game has been out for quite some time there is a steady flow of fan generated content like great fan arts and such. there's also people who go out of their way putting in a ton of time and effort to find cut materials from the game files and not just show them off but try to make ways so that any player can access them.

I feel the fanbase is also a bit more niche and less mainstream than dark souls as a whole. if you go asking for advice or information you're more likely to get it instead of someone spouting a meme at you.

As far as good fanbases, I'd like to throw in The Walking Dead. I've been to several events and all of the fans I meet are super nice people who love to sit around and discuss theories and whatnot.

And if we're counting bands, I'll say Linkin Park. I was a huge fan growing up and whether you love or hate the band, their fans are phenomenal people. I've gone to several of their concerts alone because my friends don't listen to them and every time I've found people to hang out with and made immediate friends. Little known fact, I ended up on "Making the Video" on MTV for Breaking The Habit and I had so many of them contact me to let me know I was on air. Solid people.

Creatures. As in, the virtual pet/life sim series. The community on the developers' website (back when it existed) was great, and there were loads of wonderful fansites, almost all of which have since fallen off the internet. It was a lovely fanbase while it lasted though.

Oh, and Drunks & Dragons. Most RPG podcasts (or at least the ones I listen to) have pretty good communities, in fact.

I think most mobile game communities are pretty good from what I've seen, in a sense that usually band together, and at worst you'd get meme spewers.

However, all it takes one bad move from the developer to really shake things with the community.
