The comic TV shows are back in full swing. Supergirl, Flash, and Black Lightning all returned/debuted today. Arrow and Gotham return later in the week.

Black Lightning got great reviews if you're wary about checking it out.

I just recently finished the crossover and the Flash midseason finale. Still gotta watch Arrows, but wow was the end to that crossover very cheesy dumb and the end of the Flash midseason finale was kinda stupid too. I dont really get why Thinker has needed Barry for basically anything aside from the part where Barry coming back from the Speedforce created new metas. He couldve like completely left Barry alone after that and nothing wouldve changed so far >_>

Well the return episode of Flash WOULD have been really good if that trial made any sense at all.

My god did they even try with the writing for that?

Otherwise I really liked the episode, though.

I feel like Flash has mostly been downhill since the Savitar season. Ralph is fun at least, but otherwise there hasnt really been much good going on. Hell I even got a laugh at the Thinker saying Flash has to lose once in a while when the guy has already lost almost everything he cares about >_>

Finished Runaways, LOVED it all the way through. I can totally understand where people come from when they talk about its pacing issues but I didn't care, I was so invested in the characters and what was going on.

Still watching SHIELD, still not as much into it as I was into 4 but now that the gang's back together again and especially Fitz I'm pretty excited. Last episode was the best one so far imo as well.

Also got started on Preacher S2, what a fantastic season opener. I hope it keeps this up because S1 was just too weird for me at times.

Weird maybe wasn't the right word...it's more that it felt like I was already watching a season 2, and that it was expecting me to know things that I...didn't know. All the early stuff with the cowboy and Odin Quincannon was so detached from everything and the entire show was kinda detached from having a real plot or a destination or something. It got better about halfway through, so I just hope it can keep the kind of direction it had in the season opener.

Black Lightning was pretty good. But is it even in the Arrowverse? I don't really get why they decided to make it.

Flash:

Cecile is the worst lawyer ever.
The Trial was pretty bad overall
Dibny/Joe was probably the best part of the episode
The Judge's speech at the end was WAY too harsh given all the circumstances

Black Lightning:
Thought it was okay
Weird seeing Chyna Ann McClain. I almost expect her to burst out singing every time she's on screen.
James Remar isn't a terrible father figure? That's the biggest twist I've ever seen. He always plays terrible dads.
They obviously left it open to being part of the arrowverse if they want to later, without committing to it.

Hell probably be treated better on Legends than he was on Flash.

Wally was consistently pointless on Flash so this is a good change

My wife is a lawyer, and she was just shaking her head during the whole trial of the flash.

"Be back for sentencing."

What sentencing? Barry wasn't found guilty yet!

His fingerprints being on the knife is circumstantial, and can alternately be explained by the fact that it was a wedding gift. Same thing with him finding the body. It's Barry's house. That's why he'd be standing over the body. It's also why Barry should have taken the stand, even if he wasn't going to reveal he was the flash. He could even explain he was always late because he doesn't have a car (which is true--and is exactly why he was late many of those times in the past).

If they needed Barry in jail so badly, they should have just rigged the trial. Have the jury be mind controlled by DeVoe, or threatened by him.

Wait people care about Jesse? That's almost as puzzling to me as the people who think Iris should be on Team Flash.

Well they went out of their way to introduce Jesse and Wally and then did basically nothing with both of them for an entire season aside from make them look like absolute jobber garbage. Jesse was the best girl in the show for a while. Iris shouldve been killed during the crossover
