The white wedding dress is a tradition so ingrained in our culture that it's permanently here to stay. Some brides, however, choose to stray from this convention and speak to their individual style by donning black or multicolored gowns. One of the latest trends in unique wedding attire skips the dress part altogether. Known as a bridal jumpsuit, this less fussy cousin allows a woman to dance her heart out without having to navigate a giant skirt. Theres now a variation on it, and the look is definitely not for the demure bride; this wedding jumpsuit is so sheer that its barely there.

Created by Spanish bridal label Pronovias, this daring look was worn by actor Cristina Pedroche during New Years Eve. It features a full-length, long sleeve nude suit that clings to the skin so snugly that it looks like shes wearing nothing at all. Along the garment, however, are strategically-sewn florals whose intricacies are awe-inspiring. In an Instagram post, Pronovias reveals that the design comprises more than 200 crystals embroidered into lace and Chantilly, and it took their team more than 244 hours to produce.

Wearing this type of bridal jumpsuit in front your soon-to-be spouse is one thing, but standing in front of all of your family and friends with a nearly nude outfit takes some real guts.

Caused quite a stir a few weeks ago but apparently it's already starting to take off and a lot of young brides are going for it.

What are you thoughts on the outfit?

How would you feel if your bride wore it at your wedding?

How would you feel if your daughter wore it at her wedding?

It's provocative for the sake of it. No reason to get offended over it, but whoever is buying it should also recognize that a wedding is just as much about family and friends as it is the ceremony itself, and that a dress like this is pointlessly aggressive within that context. I guess if it's a small ceremony it's no big deal, but you'd have to be kind of a shitty person to wear something like that if you've got parents/grandparents coming simply because you want to be edgy. On paper you're about to commit to a lifetime relationship... maybe take it seriously.

This is for the best. (No sarcasm.) I mean theyre honest, right? A traditional white wedding gown symbolizes purity, so theres no point in most women wearing that.

how does this indicate she won't take her relationship seriously? its her wedding. she shouldn't have to do things to make EVERYONE ELSE feel comfortable.

You haven't met many girls have you?

80% of the time weddings are about 1 thing. The bride.

And that's not sexism, pretty much any honest girl will tell you the exact same thing.

Actually I've been married for about 7 years now. If you think it's all about the bride then clearly you've never been involved in wedding planning.

Most couples don't exist in a vacuum. Both of their families act as a lifelong support network that can provide help if things are tough. Both families also have their own beliefs, convictions, and sticking points, and part of a wedding is inviting all these people not only to celebrate your new marriage, but also merging them into a single network. You'd have to be either stupid, shortsighted, or selfish to not realize that your wedding is ALSO an extremely important day for your parents and do something that would explicitly upset them simply because "you want to".

Its mostly about the bride. and at the end of the day it should only be about the bride and the groom. i get that parents and grandparents are part of the planning and fund the wedding. I understand that seeing their kids get married is just as important to them...but its still their wedding. as long as its not hurting anyone (and this clearly isn't) the bride and groom should be able to do what they want without having to worry about everyone else. she's not naked.

Well yea, I completely agree with this. My original post was more about people doing this without considering what their family may think. If all parties are on board then they should do what they want.

That you're old, and that more of your posts make more sense if you fall within a certain mid-life or older demographic. For what it worth, that obviously doesn't have to be the case, you could have married in your early to mid twenties. Also we are not our demographics.

FWIW I'm 31, which hopefully doesn't yet fall into "old" but I guess it depends on the age of the person making the value judgement.

I'm sure there are cigarettes that cost 100 bucks per cigarette but that doesn't mean smoking isn't trashy.
