Pretty good; they're too sweet to have a lot of them, and they don't mix with the other Runts very well, but on their own they're solid.

Fun Fact: They don't actually taste like modern bananas. When Runts were first made, we had a different variety of banana as the main one that everyone had. I think there was a crop blight or something and that particular banana species was nearly wiped out, so we have a different one now that tastes different. But Runts (and maybe other old candy brands) never changed their flavor formula, so the banana-flavored Runts still taste like the old bananas.

Yeah, we use the Cavendish now whereas before the standard banana was the Gros Michel (or maybe I mixed them up). Who would have guessed that everyone growing the same breed of banana would lead to a super fungus

They're all clones of a genetically-bred seedless banana. Wild bananas are smaller and have huge seeds. Because they're clones, a single case of fungus/bacteria/whatever that affects one is a HUUUUUGE problem.

Fun fact, this is actually an urban legend and not actually true.

However, if you dig in to this tale a little it soon becomes clear that there is little or no verifiable source that artificial banana is based on Gros Michel. It sounds very, very unlikely to me, says synthetic organic chemist Derek Lowe. The thing is, banana can be mimicked most of the way with a simple compound called isoamyl acetate. Many chemists know it as banana ester and anyone who smells it immediately goes, banana!

Isoamyl acetate, which is indeed found in bananas, is a very simple compound that is both cheap to produce and highly versatile. Diluted, it smells more like pears than bananas and logical combinations of this ester have proved popular. Pear drops, for example, a well-known classic British sweet, contain both isoamyl acetate (banana flavour) and ethyl acetate (pear flavour).
