The larger the sub, the more stupidly restrictive are the rules. Because every sub is separate with different owners, they just straight up delete your question instead of helping you and point you to the right place for help.

Usually it helps to read the rules before posting.

I think it's better to have restrictive rules if your subreddit serves a specific purpose.

Then how are you supposed to find that right subreddit if every sub just straight up deletes your request for help?

Reddit is so fucking bizarre. But simply put I think you will have better luck on less restrictive places like chan boards (the big 3 of shitposting, b v pol are bad, but most others have a lot of people that will help you) or simply researching.

But yeah any time I've tried to get into reddit I feel like I've been asked to fuck off. Tried to get into the YGO subreddit and they threw shit like "you need to lurk for 50 hours before you can be trusted to make a post on our holy domain about a children's card game"

The layout of reddit is just ass imo and heavily exacerbates this shit

Then there's the truly awful boards like r/gaming. What the fuck is happening there? It was one of the most bizarre and cringiest cultures I have ever encountered. Never have I seen a post of substance come from that board- it's always a meaningless webcomic or a repost from another front page hit with a caption like "Us gamers right?"

Message the mods. If EVERY sub is deleting your question, then maybe it falls outside the subreddits you are posting in.

On the front page, why isn't there a major subreddit dedicated to helping you find a subreddit? When you call a company, and you can't find a place, you can just ask the operator to redirect you, reddit needs a team of operators.
