Porn star Olivia Nova's cause of death has been confirmed as sepsis from a severe urinary tract infection that spread to her kidney, a coroner has ruled. The 20-year-old - real name Lexi Forde - was found in a rented room in Las Vegas on January 7 by police, weeks after doctors warned she could die if she didn't sober up. And Hollywood Life confirms that Lexi's body was found face down in bed, naked from the waist down with bruising on her lower left leg. Bottles of prescription pills to treat a kidney infection and UTI were nearby. A resident at the same property, where Lexi had been staying for just a week, had called 911 at 9:38am on January 7 as Lexi was "struggling to breath".

Lexi had spent the last few days of 2014 in hospital after getting behind the wheel of a snowmobile drunk, which resulted in a horrific crash that injured her face. At the time, Lexi posted a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed with a neck brace on and blood encrusting her nose and mouth. She captioned the photo as a warning to her friends: "So thankful to be alive. Thank you for all of your prayers everyone, I hope you all take it to heart when I say it's never going to be worth it to drink and drive. "I easily could've lost my life or taken another this morning," she added. In another cruel twist of fate, Lexi lost a close friend to suicide in 2016 and then her much loved boyfriend Nolan to a heroin overdose in April 2017, a month after she'd started in the porn industry.

Alcohol reduces the effectiveness of antibiotics. You're not supposed to drink at all while taking them

From uti to sepsis seems crazy. Wouldnt that mean but was left untreated

I dunno when she sought medical attention but kidney infections are very much treatable if she got to the hosp in time.

I've worked alot in the hospital and ICU and I've never seen a young person die from a kidney infection. I've seen some people get very sick on life support but they always make it. And a young person would have a pretty good chance of making it. Unless its a specific kind of infection, what we call emphysematous pyelonephritis which has high mortality....i guess thats certainly possible.

One of the first things to consider in treating sepsis is to identify the source of infection, which can be a UTI, joint infection, pneumonia, or really any infectious process. The problem surfaces when that local infection becomes systemic and your body sort of beats itself up in trying to contain it.
