Also, it's not that male-student/female-teacher is more common, it's that female-student/male-teacher is reported way less, for a number of reasons. I'm willing to bet "we don't want to lose half of our student enrollment" is one of them. Personal anecdotal evidence? A teacher at my high school resigned for alleged inappropriate relationships with high school students. It never made the news and charges were never pressed, though five minutes of internet research shows his teaching certificates were revoked. Funny that. As if teenage girls know any more or less than teenage boys what they're doing...

I'm not saying this is any more or less wrong than if it were the other way around, but just that we should treat it no differently than if it WAS the other way around..
