It wasn't for real. I came into the topic deciding to vote for whatever the oldest option was. Even if it was like 90+.
In reality is depends on the situation and culture. Like if you live in a multi-generational house then it might be expected for you to never move out and the place becomes yours at some point with your parents living with you.

Are they in college? If they are getting through college they should be at there parents house till they finish...

Otherwise around young to mid 20s imo.

There are other culture aspects as well that can't be considered by this general question...

Is this just about leaving your parents or is it to imply you have some sort of independence?

basically independence, showing that you can function as an adult without still being under your parents thumb and needing assistance from them and the like

Depends on circumstances. If going to college, within a few months of the program bring complete. If going straight to work, no school, no more than a couple of years after completing high school, ideally sooner.

I think "living with your parents" tends to invoke this image in most people's minds:

There's a lot of different situations out there though. Never know what's going on with someone. Could be saving, could be cultural, could've fallen on hard times.

Alright, I just tend to look at people that rely on having roommates/government assistance in a similar light as those living with their parents as far as actual independence goes.

No college? 21-24.
With college? You're probably going to live with your parents for life unless you picked engineering.

Whenever they have the income or reason to be living on their own. Not everyone's parents are healthy or wealthy enough to live on their own. If you live right next to a university or work there's not much point in moving out right away.

Some cultures operate differently. Im middle eastern and its normal for people to stay with their parents until they get married, regardless of how much money they make.

My brother got married recently (Iraqi wife) and the wife lived with her mom until that point. She was in her late 20s.

It depends on the circumstances. If one parent is dead and the other needs looking after, it makes sense for their son or daughter to stay living with them and look after them.

Around 25 at the latest. It becomes pretty socially unacceptable and it's just like why do you want to keep living like that. And most students are done by 25 unless they're fucking around changing majors a lot or some shit. I moved out at 20
