That depends on if you're applying to a job involving the manufacture of alcoholic products or not. If yes, then it cannot hurt. If no, then it just takes up space on your resume.

You gotta make the resume work for the job you're applying for...

Okay, then you should probably nix it from your resume.

Well, I think that company is looking for someone to do coding and other computer-programming stuff, not to craft beer. The ability to craft beer is likely irrelevant to them.

But if they don't like it, it could kill your chances...

I'm not necessarily huge on including hobbies and interests on a resume to begin with, but plenty of people are fans of it.

That said, if you are including it, I would absolutely not put "Craft Beer" on it, unless you are actually making it. If you are just partaking in it, it's no different than just putting "drinking alcohol" on the resume, which most people would tell you not to include.

Mostly clueless career advice people who are just as lost as anybody else when they need to find a new job. While it's possible that listing an interest or hobby might help somebody, it's far more likely to hurt them since it looks unprofessional.

i think it can't hurt. i mean i have that I play guitar. if I was hiring manager, I would hire a guitar god instantly. one thing i decided not to include this time was my fast food jobs so my "work experience" section is small. just my last internship. we'll see how it works.

I don't know why people think that. It can absolutely hurt. Unless that you specifically know that the hiring manager has the same hobby (which would be great spying, by the way), there's no real benefit and plenty of ways it can adversely affect you. There's a ton of irrelevant shit you shouldn't bother putting on a resume but, under that "can't hurt" philosophy, what should be a 1-2 page resume winds up a novel.

Don't share hobbies, don't list your social media profiles, don't list your ex-girlfriends, don't include swimsuit photos of yourself (unless you're going for a modeling job), don't include a recommendation from Zeus ("he says he's a swell guy and he seems pretty sure of himself so I believe him"), etc. People will assume you have hobbies and interests. I mean, you're going to be programmer, not an accountant!
