I have a Bachelors of Arts (lol) and work at a bank. My wife has a bachelors of science, a masters in teaching, and is a highscool teacher. Yet somehow last year I started making more money than her...her district is one of the lowest paid in the state. Yet they have a bloated amount of admin (multiple principals per school and shit) and they have millions simply sitting on reserve back when the economy was bad and refuse to use it.

I look at some other nearby districts where teachers pull in 6 figures and Im like y tho :(

There is a formula for teacher pay. You should be able to look it up online. It lists the range of how much you would expect to get paid based upon your years of experience and degree with certifications. There are some minor exceptions. The chemistry teacher in my hometown gets paid twice what everyone else does. The district has to subsidize it because chemistry is important.
