You know, we do have a general anime discussion topic here on CE. I'm pretty sure this topic was just meant for anime currently airing this season. So if you want to discuss other anime besides those, the anime (and other anime-related stuff) general is open for you guys.

Anyways, back on topic... right now, Katana Maidens in the lead for anime of the season, with Pop Team Epic very close behind. Also, Beatless just saved itself from being dropped with its first top-to-bottom great episode. Hopefully it can keep up the momentum for a while.

I just made this topic to plug Hakata Tonkotsu, I don't know how it's been going on this long. >_> Same with my other winter anime topic, which has been going on even longer. CE's funny, haha.

After today's Pop Team Epic finale, I can officially declare that my choice for Winter 2018 anime of the season is...







...Katana Maidens! It may be a two-cour show that will continue into the Spring, but among the shows I saw in the Winter season, none of them impressed me as much as this show. Between its colorful cast of characters, interesting story, and amazing battle scenes, this show turned into an underrated gem that cut my expectations to shreds.

Pop Team Epic was the only show airing in the Winter season to come close to matching it, but now that it's over and it's fallen just short, Katana Maidens has clinched my #1 spot. Mitsuboshi Colors and Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card have been fun too, Darling in the Franxx has been good but hasn't lived up its hype, and Beatless has been lackluster at best. Some of these are also two-cour shows that could potentially end up better overall once it's all said and done, but just in terms of what we've seen in this Winter season, Katana Maidens has impressed me the most. I can't wait to see what it brings in the Spring.

Blame M3sterybumper for keeping this thread alive way longer than necessary. The winter season is pretty much over, and the spring season begins next week.

Since M3sterybumper clearly won't just let this topic purge and fade away, TC needs to close this topic and either make a new topic about the Spring 2018 anime season OR just move discussions like this to the main anime general topic we have on this board.

so hakata tonkotsu ramens is finally done.

overall it's fun and pretty good. the structure remind me of a combination of cowboy bebop and baccano!

the only problem i have with the show overall is everyone is just so badass it felt like nothing really ever threaten anyone. even fei-lan who should be the "final boss" of the season at least is played like a fiddle, outsmarted, outgunned by the hakata tonkotsu ramen team. like seriously. last episode when fei-lan said he wants to destroy lin's friend i was like "yeaaaha good luck with that" and it strikes true. he never had a chance since the beginning. his butt is already kicked since he showed up in hakata
