you and I disagree on what rare means. to me, rare would be if a cop only killed unarmed people like once a decade. but it happens numerous times, every year. it's like at least one case every month. I don't consider that rare. and every single one of them is one too many

900 people out of 323 million.

53,000 assaults against police officers in a year. 143 killed, 60+ in gun-related incidents.

53 police officers are assaulted on duty for every person killed each year

Its sad that youre peddling these numbers as fact when so much as accidentally brushing up against a cop can count as assault if they feel like it. Educate yourself a little.

I'm the one with statistics, and you have nothing but baseless nonsense.

Maybe the problem is your lack of education, not mine.

paid leave makes sense though. if they're innocent then they're being punished for something they didn't do. if they're guilty then we should wait to see it confirmed before punishing people

Attacking a police officer and trying to take their gun is a sure fine way to be shot.

If it's a crooked cop and you're doing nothing at all and he goes for his gun anyway, he's obviously planning to harm you no matter how you act. You'd be stupid not to go after his hand and try to fight it away from him in that instance.

Unarmed doesnt mean shit. Lol

tons of people have been shot for making a mistake and not even trying to attack the cop. in most unarmed shootings, the victim wasn't planning to attack the cop. the cop misunderstood something and shot them. usually they claim they thought the victim had a weapon. in the hotel hallway shooting, the cop was sadistic and mentally tortured the victim before executing him. in the "show me your ID" shooting, the victim followed the law and told the cop he had a gun just to inform him. and when the cop asked for ID, he got his ID out...and then was shot. I admit that cops make mistakes but when cops make mistakes people die. and it's an insult when the cop gets away with a slap on the wrist if even that. if a doctor makes a mistake, even if he didn't mean it, they get fired. cops are praised for making mistakes and anyone who gets upset is called unamerican

Yes there has been cops that have done something illegal or killed someone. Just like every fucking job and thing in the world there's good and bad people. My point is that it's extremely rare and nothing at all what you think

That's the disconnect right there. If your aware of a cop taking bribes or intimidating witnesses or fucking with evidence, you and every cop that knew about it are bad cops. Not being the perpetrator doesn't absolve everyone who has knowledge of it.

Exactly that too. We did some active shooter training Friday. Me and partner walk into a room with a call with two dudes arguing. One calm one yelling. Yelling angry dude is approaching and I'm like okay dude chill out. My partner loses focus on calm one and he looks at the angry guy and tells him to relax. The two seconds he turned to tell the guy to relax. The calm guy pulled out a gun from his waistband and shot him with a sim round. Within another second I had already pulled out my gun with a level 3 retention holster at that and had already shot him back

That whole process took maybe 3 seconds

That's why these guys end up getting shot. I would rather save my life then get shot honestly

It was dumb because like I told you my town has very few people.

And that's because there are some critical distinctions between manned and unmanned aircraft. Manned helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft are expensive to acquire, staff, and maintain. A police helicopter costs from $500,000 to $3 million to acquire, and $200-$400 an hour to fly

who is going to pay for that in a town of <2,000 people?

I never said anything about the price . All I said was it would be good. Which it is. Like saying all cars should have a back up camera

Again what better training?you don't think they get countless hours of training? In the army itself I bet I have more sexual assault and harassment training than everyone here combined. You don't think it's the same for guns or people relations? As opposed to what training they are receiving now? You have no clue what you're talking about. You what would actually be better?

Police departments training citizens of their towns. How to interact with people, have schools teach that in violent inner cities. So people aren't either scared or have this us vs them mentality. But nobody would go, too busy on the weekend. Nobody in this topic would go
