Tc states that the lights ARE JUST turning off meaning the trailers are starting as most theatres nowadays play the trailers BEFORE THE MOVIE so moreso no one is invested in any movie as the movie hasnt started leading me to believe this story as there is no movie to talk over.

some people get mad even during the trailers. one time a man shot a guy for talking on the phone to his daughter during the trailers. the man died. it was in the news and was a big story at the time

Firstly, there is no "projection guy". Movie projectors, lights, and curtains are all controlled on automatic timers set to the run time of the movie the auditorium is playing. They only get manually messed with if something went wrong or something needs adjusted.

Secondly, sometimes the lights can be controlled manually if necessary, but sometimes that means flipping a switch to turn them completely off and that can be problematic. It means it'll be TOO dark in there and that violates legal codes for public safety. Also, someone has to manually turn them back on and reset the timer after the show is over which can be easily forgotten or not be possible if it's too busy for someone to go do that. Not to mention some lights can't be controlled at all.

Just doing my job to educate the masses on theater technology. People seem to not know how far theater tech has come along. I mean, sure, projectionists used to exist, but that was when films were on reels and there was a whole union just for them because you could lose a finger or a whole hand if you weren't careful so they needed representation to make sure those accidents were well compensated for. But that's a relic of the past. I doubt any theater, even old or independent ones, have film reel projectors anymore. Movies just aren't produced that way anymore and parts aren't made for them anymore.

Maybe. The window is open. If you stick your melon through, you could hear what's going on. But the previews are so loud that you wouldn't hear someone else's voice. Plus, your head would partially or fully block the projection so no one would do that.
