Mayflash Magic-S adapter is so good. Use Wii U Pro, Switch Pro, or X1 controllers on the PS4. PS3 and PC too but that's not as important since they've had adapters before

At least for games that don't use the touchpad beyond its button press...

The Hori Onyx looks OK too but finding one for a reasonable price in North America is impossible

I've never had much in the way of problems with the stock PS4 controller aside from battery life, but I guess it's up to personal taste.

I'm open to alternatives but I'm a bit picky about natively-made controllers; if I'm going to get wild and crazy I'll use my PC.

The sticks have zero grip and their bottom placement makes them extremely uncomfortable and unwieldy for games like Dark Souls and its clones. Any fast paced action it's really just unusable.

May give Bloodborne a second chance now that I can play it with a Wii U Pro.

I can't consider a controller with slippery sticks that are too far inward and down to be anything but fucking garbage.

The only thing that would make this better is software on PC to set custom mappings, so I can set touch to minus instead of plus and minus pressed together.

Other than for shooters...why? I got AC:O the other day for PC. I tried using mouse and keyboard for a total of 2 minutes before saying fuck that shit and plugging in a Xbox controller. Mouse/Keyboard is only superior for FPS, RTS and MMO's and that is about it.

The Dualshock line is one of the most poorly made controllers in the business. Comfortability and utility ends up being a matter of opinion but the actual quality of it is shit and that's a fact. I'm having a hard time buying a new one just because the R2 broke, which is an insanely common issue.

I dont play games as much as I used to. I play FPS games almost exclusively when I have time. The main reason however is, its just what Im used to. I would never buy a PS4 in the first place.

I have a launch 360 that hasn't RROD'd yet. Must not be an issue.

Really though, there's hundreds of videos of how to fix the R2 button on the DS4. It's a common issue and the reason for it is basically poor materials.

The main KB/M adapter will also let you use basically any controller you want on 360, One, PS3 or PS4

Also some people primarily play FPS games so that would be why

Both of my original DS4 controllers had the R2 button break. I replaced both with the newer model controllers and so far haven't had any issues. Hopefully they hold up.

It really is frustrating though. I take care of my stuff, never drop it, no kids use them, etc. I shouldn't have gone through 2 controllers already. If one of these new ones break I'll just switch to an XB1 controller. I've owned 3 of them and nothing has broke on any of them.
