...At the South Pole that is!

When Australian skier Jade Hameister gave a TEDx talk a few years ago, she was bombarded by trolls online.

She was explaining her journey towards the Polar Hat Trick (shes the youngest person ever to traverse the North Pole, South Pole and Greenland ice sheet), in a bid to encourage other young women to follow their dreams.

And yet, her accomplishments were met with a load of sexist remarks, such as make me a sandwich So on 13 January this yearshe did just that. At the South Pole.

The 16-year-old skied unassisted across the Greenland icecap completing the second part of the hat trick. To reach the South Pole, she then pulled a 220-pound sledge for 373 miles across Antarctica.

And there, she took a photo at the Ceremonial South Pole while holding a plate. 'I made you a sandwich (ham & cheese). Now ski 37 days and 600km to the South Pole and you can eat it, she told trolls.

These past couple of years have been filled with crazy new experiences.

Experiences that have transformed me and my soul. New pins on my map, new smells, new tastes, new friends, new cultures and a new mindset. Ive pushed myself past what I once thought were my boundaries and challenged what other people once thought was possible for young women in particular.
