like how do they come up with this shit? back in the 80s they thought to stick a chainsaw on a dude's arm turning him into a crazy slasher, except he's the hero

then they send him to the middle ages to fight a demonic army led by his evil clone

then they bring him back 30 years later except he's still stuck in the 80s and drowning himself with alcohol and drugs to try to ignore his shitty life

then he sticks the chainsaw on his hand again and starts cutting people up again

what a wonderful saga of movies and television

i usually dont like male heroes in horror movies but ash is one of the few i love
oddly enough he still has all the issues that bothers me about final guys in horror movies but they dont bother me when they come from ash.

normally when they make a horror movie have a final guy they are afraid to make him terrified and instead treat them like they are an action movie star with witty one liners and bravado so you never really feel scared for them.

ash is exactly like that but the difference is he doesnt start out that way he grows into it. in fact in the first movie he is like the most terrified character.

i like how Ash is always yelling and freaking out in the first one and to a lesser extent the second. after that he definitely has moments where he freaks out but i think a combination of being tired of the deadites' shit and feeling cool for always winning make him feel in control
