Walk by stephen king. when I first discovered Battle Royale I thought "this is just like The Long Walk!"

people praise Battle Royale even though they usually only watch the movie which is the worst version of the story.....and they ignore what Stephen King did. it was a short story when he was writing as Richard Bachman. and its about kids selected to walk down a long road and people drop out to exhaustion and are executed until there is only 1 walker left. They can't stop. they learn to sleep and eat while walking and go to the bathroom while walking. men with guns march on the sides of of the road and behind the walkers is a vehicle that can chop off your legs if your caught in it's blades.
