I suspect it was supposed to be comical, and not pose a moral quandary.

it IS meant as comedy. but it always bugged me cause she way over reacts against an innocent man. it's supposed to be funny but when you think about it, it's disturbing.

Tons of funny things are actually horrible. Take a cheesy slasher, you can laugh at a gruesome death. In reality, it wouldn't be funny, at all. You get outraged over the strangest things.
