Jon Snow, Feast for Crows start, leaving the Night's Watch at Stannis's request. Margaery is taken unless I can get Tommen killed somehow. Sansa is under Littlefinger's control and will marry either him or Harry the Heir unless I kill them. Stannis offers Val right off the bat and she's okay but doesn't do much for me. I could go for Asha Greyjoy which could be interesting. Or just look for some random no name courtier that happens to have decent congenital traits.

You can with play with just the base game, the DLCs add more features though. Like Essos cities aren't playable without The Republic, the Dothraki need Horse Lords DLC.

Total conversion mod for Crusader Kings 2 with lots of new systems as well. Time period playable ranges from the War of the Five Kings to Aegon's Conquest and with the latest updates even before the Doom of Valyria though the pre-Conquest starts are still a WIP

It's a little bit like Civ but different. And you can do either, though the multiplayer can break pretty badly if you use dragons and stuff.

There's a starter pack that contains the most popular DLCs. I'd start with that.

Unless this is just for the mod. Hell if I know in that case.

Wait and see if they go on sale tomorrow since Steam is doing a lunar new year sale but

The Republic is required to play most of Essos
The Old Gods is highly recommended for Ironborn characters
Horse Lords required for Dothraki
Way of Life's focus system adds a ton
Conclave overhauls the council system and adds education focuses for children

The portraits aren't necessary for AGoT but there are submods that allow them to be utilized and add a good bit of visual variety.

I keep finding things I want to change in the files

Sandor Clegane is listed as dead and there's no gravedigger replacement for him
Robert Strong has the highest tier fighter trait which is wrong, he's just big and strong
Some other characters have traits lower than I think they should be

Someday I'll actually play, man

Also the game is on sale on Steam now along with DLCs. Not sure what you're willing to drop on it but there's a bundle with every expansion for 85 bucks if you're really feeling it.

Nah, it's extremely easy. You just download the mod and stick it in a folder. Actually, I think the last time I installed it the installer did all that for you too.

Oh no I've played it for more than 100 hours, and I'm still learning things. I'm just wanting to create a mod because I think the way the AGoT mod handles one specific thing could be improved.

I mean, all you need is Notepad++ or something similar. I have custom tweak mods running for all of my Paradox games

Well, this one is a little more involved than just tweaking things. I want to change direwolves from a trait into actual characters, like dragons are. And doing so requires changing every event that references that trait, into checking to see if you have a direwolf friend. I'd also need to get portrait art for them and yeah it's just a bit too complex for me right now

I might just mod it so any player controlled character can acquire Dawn instead though, that's easier.

Yeah that's normal, it takes quite a while to really figure it out. And I'm still learning.

If you really just want to play the mod start with Ned Stark in the Crowned Stag bookmark, if you want to learn in the base game start in Ireland

I've had random imprisonment happen occasionally though, it is annoying. Not entirely sure what causes it because of no event pop-up

How can you even tell how battles are going? I kept getting cryptic messages that I had no idea what they meant.

Find it on the map, then look at the green morale bars for each army, the one that has its morale depleted first loses and retreats
