I've never been in the military, but I'm working on competition shooting with my AR-15, and I know I would hate life if another 3+ lbs was added on to the front end of the rifle. Pretty sure the troops who have to sling that shit all day would have it much worse, especially if an engagement lasts longer than a few seconds.

Imagine being upset over carrying an extra 1.5 pounds. I'm starting to believe these kids think it works like in video games where if you add an extra pound to your inventory you literally walk at a snails pace.

Let me settle this for you guys.

I want CEs_EFG and men and women like him to defend us from enemy forces and go where they need to go to do that. iClockwork and men and women like him can work in the office, mess hall or whatever else is available, assuming they even want to join the armed (or in their case, unarmed) services. We should all be Ok, no, we should insist, that they stay far, far away from any rifles and grenades that they might have otherwise been expected to use. Dont drop the standards, of course.

Honestly, I think thats about as diplomatic as it gets, with both sides still getting paid, and the rest of us civilians wont have to worry about some recruit killing their own unit because they couldnt throw far enough.

I think the most obvious answer the military doesnt give everyone grenade launchers is cost.

25 meters isnt a long distance at all. Spending all the money to do something everyone should already be able to makes no sense. Its like if the military gave everyone prosthetic legs.

Not very far you can lower it. 15 is the casualty radius of a frag. I guess you could take it back to 20 but I'm guessing the limpwrists that can't make it 25 probably won't make 20 either.
