You need to define "soul" first.

Or god, for that matter.

People talk about life after death.

Well, then we have to define life. What is life after death?

Clearly, our physical body is dead.

So if we are still alive, then what kind of life is it? It's obviously not a carbon-based lifeform or any kind of "life" as it's known in science, ie, the kind of life that we are on the lookout for when scouting for planets in which water might exist in liquid form.

If there is such a thing, then clearly it's beyond our scientific understanding.

But then maybe this is another way to see it?

If I am alive at time A, then die at time B, there will always be a place in the time-space continuum where I am alive, that is at time A. In that sense, we are always alive because even after we die there is a point in time in which we were alive.

I find it very odd that I can identify my brain, and if I'm calling it "my brain," what does that imply? What's a soul? Is it your personality? Your anatomy?

How about if consciousness is a product of the brain or rather the brain a conduit for consciousness. How is the answer verifiable and what does it change?

Brain.

Our personality can change drastically depending on brain damage. I dont think there has ever been someone whose soul was injured... outside of hippies and millennials.

That's just our brains referring to themselves in the third person.
