Of the 2,952 athletes competing at this year's Winter Olympics, only 43 (1.45-percent) of those athletes are black. Some have already made history, while all are challenging perceptions of what a winter athlete looks like. Does it matter? Most winter sports have a lot of expensive gear and are somewhat exclusive to start out with. If youre not living in the right spots youll need access to training facilities. And for most of the sports there isnt much payoff anyway. Not a ton to get worked up over.

lmao 28 of those 43 are bobsledders. So out of every other sport like curling, hockey, figure skating, skiing. There are 15 black athletes.

i dont know many black people into winter sports. regardless of money. i know a few who snowboard, thats about it.

Look at the countries competing in the winter games. Mostly white countries from cold weather regions. The black percentage skyrockets at the summer games.
