it doesn't make sense either way tbh, there were a lot of questions which were not really questions

one of those moms sounded like she was on horse tranqs and she just went on and on for a really long time and in the end her question was just, "what are you going to do about this"

so even though I am inclined to think that CNN didn't give him a scripted question per se I do totally believe they were screening particular opinions to air

Their statement said he wanted to give a long speech, which isn't what it is for. Admittedly some of the people did talk for quite a bit, but I think if they'd have announced their intent beforehand they'd have been screened out too

I dunno, maybe so. The person I'm talking about was clearly reading a prepared statement but it isn't necessarily the case that she told CNN the truth about what she wanted to do

Think it's worth noting he wrote an extensive speech rather than questioning and town halls like this aren't really made for that. I have no doubt that happened. I do doubt they fed him a question though.

And on that same vein I'm honestly shocked that one mother's speech made it in considering it ate up like four minutes and had zero line of questioning

Donna, who was not chair of the DNC at the time, leaked one question to Hillary and when the emails leaked and it was seeen CNN promptly fired her as a contributor.

After the well thought out response from the NRA rep was basically shouted down Im not surprised they wouldnt want this kid suggesting something that wouldnt ban guns but make it easier to stop these guys if it happens again. I dont like the idea of armed guards at schools but banning guns isnt the right path either.

What actually happened

There is absolutely no truth to this. CNN did not provide or script questions for anyone in last night's town hall, nor have we ever. After seeing an interview with Colton Haab, we invited him to participate in our town hall along with other students and administrators from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Coltons father withdrew his name from participation before the forum began, which we regretted but respected. We welcome Colton to join us on CNN today to discuss his views on school safety.

According to a CNN insider Haab wanted to give an extensive speech and not just ask a question, something the network said the forum was not designed for. When the family was told this they decided to pull out of the event. The CNNer also noted the subject Haab wanted to address, arming teachers, was discussed at length in the 2-hour long town hall.

The kid wanted to give a speech, not just ask a quick question. CNN told him he couldnt and suggested a new question. The thing the kid wanted to talk about WAS addressed. And the reason he wasnt in the town hall meeting was because his dad said no.

The trolls know this, but they gotta play their part
