We've officially had Oreo pupper for a month now.
https://imgur.com/a/c7ajf

She was 8wks when we got her. She's 12wks now, which means she SHOULD start being able to hold her bladder. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case at all.

When we first got her, she was able to be locked in her crate for 3-4 hours at time, while we were at work, with no issue.

Now if she's locked in for that same amount of time, I'm consistently coming home to her COVERED in piss and shit. Like the last 7 days it's happened.

So I get home at 4:30, and don't sit down until about 6pm. Takes a good hour and a half to bathe her, scrape the shit out of her crate and bleach it, feed them dinner etc.

Not really sure what to do about it. She can't free-roam for hours. She'd destroy everything.

We're on a pretty consistent schedule for food and water, but it doesn't seem like it whatsoever.

Any tips?

Can't. She eats everything she can get her mouth on. Tries to eat furniture. Etc. She's gotta be locked up when we aren't there, just like our other pooch.

This sounds bad, but it's at the point where I don't even wanna go home after work. Like I know the mess that's waiting for me, and I just dread it. Fucking sucks.

Also causing relationship issues since we're both so stressed out 24/7

That's a myth from what I've heard, and could not be more false for our dog lol.

We'll take her out, she'll pee, then pee inside literally 5 minutes later.

Exhausting? No, no, its rewarding. Thats a magnificent pup. My parents dog had the same issue with going to the bathroom in the house. She will learn where to go.

I'm much more patient about her going on a throwaway rug. Takes like two minutes to clean up.

But when she goes in her crate, basically rolls around it, gets it on the walls and what not... that's the shit I hate cleaning.

How long do you take her outside for pee/poo break

Around 10-15 minutes. Or until she lays in the yard/at our feet. Whichever comes first.

Nope. We specifically got a small/medium sized crate for that reason. Big enough that she can grow into it a little bit, but she doesn't have a ton of room to walk around.

And yeah she doesn't have an issue when she's in bed with us at night. (Yes I know, she should be in her crate at night too.)

No divider in it.

Pretty sure this is the exact model we have. http://us.petvalu.com/product/SCM00573/plastic-carrier-essentials

This is your problem. If she doesn't sleep in her crate at night she doesn't consider that her den. That's why she's doing that.

Yeah, this is pretty much why I'm not comfortable crating her at night. We only do it during the day out of necessity.

Cats are minimal work.

Dogs are such a task.

I prefer dogs over cats, but cats are so dependent they are so convenient.

If you get a cat who's like a dog, you've hit lotto.

We're gonna get her checked on Tuesday when we get her boosters finished. But it's poop too, not just urine.

my puppy had that once, easily treatable with medication. i was really lucky to be able to have my current dog through so many situations (one move and previous owner couldn't take care of her).

If it's poop too then it could be something in her food that's disagreeing with her. Gotta be careful of the brand of food that you give dogs. Some food can make them turn into cannon butt.

Go to dogfoodadvisor.com, they have a good rating system and break down the protein that's present.

If I'm not doing a raw feeding at the moment my dog gets Orijen or Fromm. I never had a problem with those and Orijen in particular is close to a raw diet as far as nutritional balance.

She's on a grain free kibble, not sure of brand off the top of my head. I'll check later.

Maybe a new food would help. She was doing better when we first got her, and she was eating a different kibble at the time.

While we're gone? I mean we could, but there's not a single room in the house that's "puppy proof"

Carpet would get ruined. Furniture destroyed. Eating things that could make her need surgical removal. Etc

Cats either don't care, or will slap a dog who gets too annoying about it.
