Alright, so I know this has nothing to do with Overwatch, but I play Smite. And right now there's an "adventure mode" and I actually got put into a match with pro Smite players!!! And not just any pro Smite players, I actually like both of them!!! It was quite awesome!

In Overwatch terms, just imagine if you played something like that Uprising event and every other player you got randomly put with were all pro OW players that you liked!

Jeff recently confirmed that Symmetra will be getting another major rework, though it will take a while.

Her gameplay, particularly her ult(s), needs to be way more active and engaging to play as and against IMO. I don't really enjoy her at all in her current form.

Brigitte has been around for a while though as a supporting character. This doesn't necessarily mean that although that does seem to be where it's going.

Looking like it's definitely Brigitte.

I think this is the first example of comics characters getting promoted to playable. The comics to me always felt disconnected from the main game so I'm glad.

Maybe they could advance the story sometime in the next decade now.

And servers are down. Played around with her kit in practice. She doesn't do a whole lot of damage, and she has to be right up in people's faces. And it's hard to gauge her healing since she only has one direct heal ability that doubles as armor. But it looks like it's 75 points of armor, so I'm guessing it's probably about the same healing if not a little more. She's definitely a second healer. But also it feels like she's anti-flank. She's quite tanky for a healer, with her ult up she has 400 HP.

Edit: overall she feels like baby Reinhardt.

yeah, they're at least somewhat careful with WoW lore. it's still controlled by fanfics and books, but it's at least.. consistent? i guess. other than the weird time travel bullshit in warlords of draenor.

I've seen a few jokes about how Reinhardt could have a flashback to his birth and Mercy would be the doctor delivering him, or Mercy's background being retconned to make her a Starcraft 2 player.

Honestly I think a big issue is it doesn't feel like there was meant to be such a big age gap in the old overwatch characters. They wanted to have the old veterans, so they made them 60 and older. They also wanted some examples of Overwatch in their prime, so you have characters in their 30s and 20s.

But it's like Blizzard never realized that there's a 30 year difference between 30 and 60 and so these characters can't always interact in ways that jive with the timeline. It feels like Soldier and Torb were only meant to be in their 40s but there was a miscommunication.

I bought Pharah and Zarya's event skins. Don't have Genji or Widow's skins from this event, but I don't really play those character so whatever. And now I only have 200 credits. >_> So I better get more before Uprising 2 next month.
