Yeah, the problem is that fighting games usually fuck up those things. And with good reason, the goal is to make a good fighting game - so any story mode or adventure mode is a tacked-on afterthought that you shouldn't devote major resources to, lest the actual game suffers. SC3's chronicles of the sword was original, for sure, and I hope that something like that returns.
