Current Events > Legal definition of "month"?

Say you opened some account today, 2/26/2018. A legal document says you cannot close this account until six months after you open the account. Does that mean I cannot close it until 8/26/2018? Or is that 180 days, so 8/25/2018?

This begs the question though, what if you open your account on 8/31/2018. You can't close it for six months. So, six months from 8/31/2018 is 2/31/2018

BUT, February 31st doesn't exist

So if someone creates an account on 8/31 (or 8/30, or 8/29 in a year prior to a non-leap year), then they'll never be able to close their account

My guess is that it'll be the last day of that month...

It's like video games when they say you have 1 life but you aren't sure if it's the last one or if that counts as another life before you reach 0 lifes....
