Children being brought up without a father figure.

Once you have babies with a woman, you need to be devoted(to the children)until they are 18. No running around impregnating other women or doing something stupid where you end up in prison.

Thats it. When a child is brought up with just one parent, theyre missing something. More than likely without a father, people will be untamed and out of control since they were never disciplined. Now, when people pass away, that cant be helped. You gotta move on without that person. But when father figures willingly leave or mothers divorce them and bring some other dude in the picture - youre screwing up their future.

People used to have father figures back in the day, didnt stop them from being shitty racist, sexist, and violent people. If anything I hear violence in general has gone down in society quite precipitously in the last 50 years or so

Pretty much fact.

Kids need both male and female dominant\loving figures in their life while grown.

It's truly a cultural epidemic we have with the family structure being broke down and diminished.

Absolutely. Growing up in a single-parent home is the greatest predictor of future poverty, educational failure, and criminality. There should be a lot more societal shaming of deadbeat parents.

Hip hop and videos games took the place of my dad since he was a truck driving couch dad mostly. I honestly think they taught me to be a decent man tho. I've never been physically strong but I always demanded and received the same amount or sometimes more respect than the physically strong. I think the key was expecting nothing from no one and showing appreciation to anyone who went out their way for me. But as soon as someone was like "if you don't do this, I won't do this" I laughed at them and reinforced that I didn't need them for shit. People eventually realize they have no pull through manipulation and you always have a choice in every thing you do

Naahhhhhh.

Loads of single mothers do right by their kids.
Lesbian mothers also do right by their kids.
Kids with both parents in their lives can still end up pretty shitty.

If anything, not having a father in the home can be a symptom of other issues can can affect a child's upbringing.

Yeah my dad not being there and my mom having to work so much left my siblings and I pretty depressed.
We all have some sort of social anxiety or major depression. My sister dropped out of high school and parties a lot, my brother is in and out of jail, I spend too much time holed up in my room.

The idea that you need a 'male and female' parental figure is outdated nonsense lol

Yes have a mother and father is such an outdated concept.

Let me address the gay/lesbian issue that for some reason - IS an issue in here:

You just need two parents. One who is the enforcer, and the other who is more soft. It's not restricted by sex. These can also alternate at any time you want. Just as long as there is one tougher parent when teaching or disciplining your child.

The key is having caring two parents, not necessarily having two parents of opposite genders.

And yes, to address posts like 15, many kids grow up fine in a single-parent home, just many kids turn out poorly from a nuclear family. But those are the statistical outliers. All the data show a clear and significant detriment to children (in general) who only have one parent. This is not debatable.

Does poverty lead to single parent homes or single parent homes lead to poverty? Seems like a vicious cycle either way.
