http://metro.co.uk/2018/02/27/game-developers-call-loot-box-restrictions-censorship-ahead-gdc-conference-7345157/

Global gains against game censorship are suddenly at risk from a combination of actions against our industry. With the World Health Organization classifying gaming disorder a mental health condition and burgeoning legislation around the world against loot boxes, a handful of government officials again wield outsized power over our creative and business decisions. What are developers to do? Join us for a discussion on how we can protect our rights.

Stop being greedy bitches and include everything in the games from day 1 like you use to, for one.

You want lootboxes, cosmetic DLC's, charging for things to stop? Then games can't cost as much as a NES cart did. Advocate for price increases and they can recoup losses. Until then games for charity continues where the real meat is post launch.

Yeah, if the casino lobbies can't do shit about regulations, I really don't see the game industry faring any better. Especially since most gamers complain about loot boxes.

I think people can stop with the whole narrative that developers are being forced into this by publishers considering stuff like this.

Lootboxes are literally gambling and they should legally be treated as such.

Lootboxes should:

1) divulge % chance to receive an item.
2) not be purchasable for real life $$$. In game currency is fine

Then they can stay. Otherwise get rid of them

You do realize he's probably acting as a mouthpiece for a publisher, right?

Sorry but when major publishers are using the same tactics as casinos in their games, your argument doesn't have a leg to stand on
