I've seen the $700 figure around for years and years, but I've also seen a lot of people say that Bitcoin drove up the price of graphics cards.

Crypto mining has made it considerably more expensive, yes. Graphics cards alone can be 2/3rds of your total expense on building a pc

This. Pre-made pcs are actually the more affordable option now. It's fucking hilarious. Walmart carries a pre made dell gaming pc with a 1060 or 1080, i forget, for like $800.

Tbh, I'm not even upset at that idea because I am incredibly nervous about the idea of building one.

Also, just for reference, I wouldn't exactly hate playing nice AAA games, but I'll be honest with you, myself, and god and say that it will probably be 90% used for WoW.

If you're that nervous, frys electronics and micro center will put them together for you for a fee.

My issue with shopping for one is that I have absolutely no notion of what specs mean in terms of quality.

That one is basically the same as what I posted but it's Omen so it may be higher quality/easier to upgrade later but I'm not real familiar with HP.

The omen one is what my buddy has, it has additional unused ram ports on the board so when ram prices are down it can be easily upgraded. It also allows for easy access to the inside of the case to upgrade the gpu or psu.

If I were going to get a premade I'd go with the Omen. It will last you a long time and prices may stabilize and calm down by the time you need to upgrade honestly.

Also that Omen will run WoW perfectly fine I imagine. Even with the current changes to graphics and such.

How would it handle other games? I'd like the option if BFA turns out to be another WoD.

I also started up playing modded Minecraft again which is a beast on memory if nothing else.

That combo tested on a bunch of games if you want to get and idea of what performance you'll get. I don't know from Minecraft though sadly.

From what I've come to understand, it's just because Java is such a terrible coding language. Even beastly PCs that guys like the Yogscast (aka LPers that essentially play Minecraft professionaly) use have trouble sometimes.

The omen will run most current Gen games on high, some on max but not most. Still, most pc games on high look better than ps4/xb1 obviously.

Wow will run great on it.

Yeah the omen would be a good buy in the current market. You could run wow on high on it no problem, as well as aaa games.
