https://www.marieclaire.com/health-fitness/a18750577/doctors-rule-menstrual-cramps-as-painful-as-heart-attacks/?src=socialflowTW

I keep seeing this shared on my Facebook feed. 137k shares of literal fake news. Disingenuous/dishonest, at the very least.

Because ONE doctor said it's ALMOST as painful. Just annoying because I've seen three girls share it already, and it's just... wrong.

I'm not saying periods are easy by any means, but comparing it to a fucking heart attack is hilarious.
I can maybe see extreme cases of menstrual cramps being compared to heart attacks, but it's far from the norm.

Some patients don't even get the chest pains associated with heart attacks, particularly women.

Sure you can. I'm sure you've been around women who were currently cramping, or on their period. Were they lying on the ground, unable to stand, clutching their stomach?

And even if you've never had or personally witnessed a heart attack, you know how they are protrayed to be.

They was holding their stomach, in to much pain to really move about. However, it not as bad as a damn heart attack.

Have you ever gone out in public and saw this?

I'm not talking about your mom laying on the couch in mild pain. I'm talking about it being comparable to a heart attack.

TC is ignorant of this so I await his response.

Some cases report that up to a whopping 43% of women may present with an MI with no chest pain.

I believe there was a case of a guy who ended up with a bullet lodged in his body without realizing it, so you could say that cramps are more painful than being shot.

As a person who had a heart attack before, it wasn't nearly as painful as some people made it out to be, in fact I dont think there was much pain involved. I just felt my left side ache a bit but I thought it was due to the phenomena I was going through at the time followed by a cold sweat. Next thing I know, I wake up with a tube down my throat.

I mean you can have a silent heart attack, so the range of pain in that condition is pretty large. Comparing menstrual cramps to them is kind of a non-statement, so while the article might be silly, making a fuss that an article was made about it is kind of equally silly. Who gives a shit?
