Don't be condescending. That's a very substantial increase for the cost.
Do I even "need" 100mb/down? Probably not. Do I want it? Absolutely. So yes, I do want the increase(1gb), but need is a strong word. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Does it actually get you 1 gb download in reality? And do you really benefit much from the change? At 100 down, I already get everything pretty much immediately unless I'm downloading large files, which I don't do often enough to want to pay $180 extra per year to speed up. My sites come up immediately, my videos never really buffer. At this point I think the bottleneck for me is almost always either my computer's RAM or the server's bandwidth, but not my internet speed

You're looking to spend an extra ~25% on your internet bill for something you might not even benefit from. I pay $75/mo for 250mb/s down with basic cable and HBO: http://www.speedtest.net/result/7110316872.png They gave me a free speed upgrade for 2 years; it used to be 100mb/s for the same price. I dont know how you guys get such good rates.
