Meh. Was trying to say "It is easy to learn" but if this isn't some sort of irony, I don't know what is I guess.

What's the issue? I thought using "ha" as topic indicator or w/e it's called was correct, only that it's actually pronounced "wa"?

theres like 26 letters of alphabet. While English can be unpredictable, a language like Spanish has clear rules and you get what's happening in the word by saying the sound of each letter

With kanji AFAIK you don't necessarily get any info from the picture itself. You just gotta know. And IIRC the way it sounds can be totally different based on multiple factors. Sometimes letters can sound different based on the vowel it precedes or something, but as far as I understand do you not have to know the rules for all the different kanji

Yeah but you still gotta know what the words mean, right? Every single word, you have to know their meaning. That's my point. It sounds daunting to learn kanji because you're comparing it to the alphabet. If you just look at it as knowing one extra little detail about a word that you need to know, then it doesn't sound so daunting.

(and there are categories and stuff for kanji. They're not all completely random)

The kanji are in a way similar to English words. Many of the really complex kanji are made up of multiple smaller pieces which can be used to help determine the meaning and pronunciation.
