as i remember the first time because i already know the gimmicks to each boss. at least, the six i've beaten so far have been pretty easy because i 'figured out' the trick in the first ~30 seconds of the fight.

1/3 of the experience is figuring out what to do and now that i know the trick, the actual execution isn't really that challenging or (tbh) that interesting.

Yeah the first playthrough was definitely the best but I still found replays fun.

The beat part on the first playthrough was whistling just after Agro falls.

i have the same issue with Portal, or any puzzle game.

times like these i wish we could selectively erase our memories.

I remember feeling good when I figured out how to make a titan vulnerable without looking it up.

it feels so much better to figure it out on your own. the majority of the time i look something up i immediately regret it and think "ugh, i could have figured that out if i spent a few more minutes". then, of course, there are the times i look it up and think ".... what stupid fucking game design, i would have NEVER figured that out".

i rarely go for the fully charged strike for that very reason. i usually let it get to ~50% and then BAM

I don't think I've ever pulled off a full strike, actually. Plus, if you jump and stab in the air, that does good damage without charging. Especially useful against 16.

It's like Red Dead Redemption. First playthrough is fantastic. Second time around is "meh".

Great games, but not much replayability.

I've never managed to pull off the jump stab attack. Then again, when I played it I was a scrub who didn't really know most controls aside from hold on and stab.

Said to hell with playing time attack.

This is a problem with all "puzzle" games. Once you know the solution, it's nowhere near as hard or as interesting the second time through.
