If you were looking for 6 new comics that all look pretty intriguing (even if the first one is going to be a wonderful trainwreck).

Seriously, this is some good shit here.

Short story: DC is making a Vertigo for the DCU, essentially.

Honestly, with DC's current competence and general awareness of their fanbase's opinions, Miller must have had a reaaaaaally good pitch.

Was it...any good?

Also what's the current status of DC weekly digital distribution?

No idea about digital distribution.

DK3 was better than Strikes Again, but it still isn't on the level of old Miller work. The last issue was really good and honestly a complete departure from what the entire trilogy espoused. It's strangely optimistic at the end.

Also I got an advance copy of Green Lantern: Earth One, and I would argue it's the best Earth One book so far. Not that we're talking about a super-high bar, but it's really an enjoyable read.

Pretty much all of these sound incredible, though I'm iffy on the Superman title. Most excited for Snyder's Batman and Rucka's Wonder Woman.

I'm curious about that history one at the end. It sounds very unique.

Preordered, didn't know this was coming out. I don't think I've heard of Hardman?

Why do they need an official out of continuity thing? cant they just make normal out of continuity comics? Not that I oppose this or anything, its just odd.

Because this has no downside and will sell more.

Because this is how they launched Vertigo successfully. You build around a few core high-profile releases that you expect to be critically successful, and use that as a platform to push lower-profile projects that will sell better thanks to the built-up confidence in the imprint. And from there, you can either give concepts a home that don't otherwise fit in regular continuity, build up minor characters, or give unknown writers a chance to reach a broader audience.

Alright, that makes sense.

I seen this! I can never get enough of Snyder/Capullo, so I'm excited for that. I plan on picking up both of the Batman books as of now, and I'll probably wait to see which of the others turn out to be good.

I am moderately excited, though Rucka on Wonder Woman can fuck right off.
